Lockdown had a real impact on my creative process, but I managed to get my hands on some darning bits as lockdown began and slowly taught myself to darn some old socks. This process of slowly mending became really important to me; it was mindful and careful and made me reconsider how I focus on my artistic practice. Eventually as lockdown has eased, so has the creative block I was experiencing. As I started to read and research again I’m experimenting with screenprinting images of rocks collected on the Somerset coastline and darning over the top of them.
