Born in Cambridge and brought up in Kent, from his early childhood Peb showed a passion and aptitude for art.  In the early 70’s he attended Canterbury College of Art and Norwich School of Art, studying Fine Art Painting.  Subsequently he stayed in North Norfolk where he and his wife, Trish (also an artist) established a gallery business.  Eventually they moved to South Somerset and opened a new gallery on Castle Cary High Street in September 2009.
The gallery closed in 2016 and they now work from their studio at home.

Peb is an accomplished painter in oils, watercolor and acrylics, covering a wide range of subjects from figurative to still life, but predominantly landscape. His paintings use contrasting shapes and strong, almost sculptural drawing marks to create bold and striking works which reflect the beauty and grace of the countryside and coasts of the southwest peninsular from Somerset to Cornwall.

Favourite artists include Nicholas de Stael, Paul Klee, Patrick Heron, Peter Lanyon, Hamish MacDonald, Barbara Rae and many, many others, mostly unknown (and mostly younger!)
