Jane Mowat has lived in Somerset since 1989, and works from Hurstone Studios, Waterrow.  She has mainly worked with wood, creating narrative images of beasts and figures within nature either as relief carvings or woodcuts.  These she prints up in dark or brilliant colours by hand onto fine nepalese or japanese papers.

One of her latest projects has been a carved four poster bed which is installed outdoors in a wood during the summer and autumn for the intrepid to rest or sleep in.  Visit her blog at jane-mowat@blogspot for images and thoughts.

She also creates stirling silver brooches and pendants inspired by her woodcuts, and her latest venture has been in glass.  Visit heydonhillwood.wordpress.com to see images of her life-sized glass ladders amongst the trees.

She gives monthly workshops to artists and beginners alike, inspiring them into the techniques she uses for printmaking.  Please contact her for dates and details.
