Continuing on from the success of Somerset Art Weeks 2008 educational programme for schools, SAW and SPAEDA (Somerset’s Arts Education Partnership), teamed up again to develop an education programme for Somerset Art Weeks 2009. The programme is focus on building close working relationships between artists, schools and their local communities.
Five artists were selected to work in five schools in Somerset; one in each district. During June and July 2009, each artist conducted a short residency in one of the schools working with the students to develop art works to be exhibited during Somerset Art Weeks.
