We are pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Goddard for our County of Contrasts Young People commission. Tom will research into the archive at Somerset Heritage Centre and work with young people in Taunton to create work responding to the theme of ‘breaking down barriers’ for the Tyca Festival 1-2 November at the The Museum of Somerset.
 
Thomas Goddard is a contemporary visual artist from Cardiff, Wales. By collecting ideas, insights, humour and histories from communities, he supports people to understand and find new ways to see themselves and the world. Thomas received the inaugural Marsh Award for Excellence in Gallery Education and has worked with the BBC, Wales Arts International, CADW, Take Apart and HLF. Thomas was recently selected for Survey – a major exhibition by Jerwood Space presenting works by 15 early-career UK artists in 2018/19, touring to Bluecoat, Liverpool; g39 Cardiff and Baltic Gateshead.
