I am a textile fibre artist based in Yeovil, a small market town in South Somerset. I specialise in free motion embroidery and appliqué to create my intricate artwork, using my sewing machine to "paint" with threads and vintage fabrics.
Textiles is my passion; it was sparked by my grandmother and her magical treasure trove of fabrics and haberdashery that always fascinated me as a child.
I was over the moon to be awarded the Creative Pathways 2018: ACEarts Bursary and worked in the amazing ACEarts gallery space in Somerton alongside artist mentor Lydia Needle. During the 2018 Open Studios event, I created work that studies the fascinating world of seeds and beans and their sustainability.
I studied BA Hons Fine Art Sculpture and a PGCE in Art Education at Bath Spa University. As well as creating my own artwork I teach a range of workshops and courses to share my passion and enthusiasm with others.
