As an emerging artist since my withdrawal in 2017 from a recognised successful career in academia; formerly programme leader for Fashion, Textiles and Surface Design for the University of Somerset.
I now have the clarity and time to pursue and expand my own practice development from designer to artist; I personally find the two areas of the creative spectrum merge and separate as I travel along this journey.
For some time now, I am drawn to the national park of Exmoor, exploring imagery and inspiration taken from this environment.
Processes explored thus far in my 2D work have been applique, paint, print and stitch. I return to 3D forms, drawing upon my formal training in pattern cutting to produce morphed human / animal figures.
I still enjoy and therfore continue the imparting of knowledge and skills, through my private workshops and classes across the south west region of the UK.
