‘en plein air’ at The Gallery, Castle Cary 23 September -8 October
SAW invited four of the most prominent painters in that tradition, members of the Artists Union of Saint Petersburg to Somerset to spend time painting with artists in the region. This is partly educational and partly a coming together of cultures.
‘en plein air’ painting sessions this August 2017
SAW members and associated artists are welcome to join them working outside in the Somerset Landscape.
The workshop dates with the Russians are planned to take place on:
August 10 – Based from the Radić Pavilion in the Piet Oudolf Field at Hauser and Wirth, Bruton BA10 0NL- Meet in the Car Park at 11.00
August 16 – Forde Abbey, Chard TA20 4LU- Meet in the Car Park at 11.00 (entry charges apply).
August 18 – Burrowbridge – National Trust Car Park TA7 0RB at 11.00. Lunch in King Alfred, Burrowbridge from 1.15 (but please book directly with the Pub Tel no 01823 698379).
August 21 – Hestercombe Gardens TA2 8LG. Meet in the Café at 11.00 (entry charges apply).
Bring suitable (wet weather) clothes, your own art materials, something to sit on and water.

A selection of works will be shown informally during the Art Weeks at Hestercombe and Forde Abbey.
