An invitation to artists to apply for one of six Jerwood residencies to take place at Newlyn Gallery-Cornwall, Penzance between May 2020 and August 2020. Residency artists to be in-residence, to help Newlyn reflect on their contribution to debates around the civic role and social purpose of contemporary galleries, exploring and developing their own practice in response to the wider mission of the gallery, with a particular invitation to interrogate and support socially-focussed strands of Newlyn’s work.
 
Eligibility:
•       Applicants must be in the first 10 years of their practice and be UK-based
•       Residencies of between one and six months duration
 
Selected artists will be provided with the following:
•       Furnished accommodation in Newlyn or Penzance for the duration of the residency
•       A fee equivalent to £25,420 pa pro rata
•       A creative production budget of up to £1,500
•       Access to a budget of up to £650 per artist to support their professional development
