This year, we are providing bursary support to 4 Somerset based artists aged between 18-25 or in the early stages of their career. Creative Pathways Bursary 2020 offers opportunities for the selected artists to demonstrate their developing practices and engage their audiences during our Somerset Open Studios Event (19 September – 4 October 2020) in his/her chosen location/venue.

The selected artists will receive the following:

  • Free to take part in Somerset Open Studios event 2020 (Equivalent to £200)
  • 5 hrs mentoring, advice and support on artistic development and marketing from SAW Team
  • 5 hrs mentoring from a professional artist (Equivalent to £250)
  • Part of the Artist Development Programme and invited to take part in events and opportunities.
  • 3 hrs surgery with Somerset Film on digital skills.
  • £250 to cover expenses, i.e. materials and transport

Eligibility

  • Emerging Artist Member.
  • Artist between 18-25 who has either left college, graduated from BA in Fine Art (including those graduated by September 2020) or equivalent; and/or – set up their professional practice in the last three years and take part in the Somerset Open Studios Event or similar event for the first time.
  • Artist works on contemporary visual arts practice, including craft, installation, sculpture, sound, performance, new media, digital, multidisciplinary, moving image and participatory
