Join us on 1st & 2nd November at the Castle House at the Museum of Somerset to see an exhibition of the research and creative workshops behind Taunton Youth Republic and participate in round table discussions about the future of Taunton and the role young people play in this.
Part of our new commission for Tyca Festival (artstaunton.co.uk/tyca), we are working in partnership with Somerset Heritage Centre & Somerset Museum to present Taunton Youth Republic, based around the Tyca Festival theme of Breaking Down Barriers. Artist Thomas Goddard has been working with students from Richard Huish College, Taunton Deane Partnership College and the University Centre Somerset, in a series of workshops and visits to the Somerset Heritage Centre.
Taunton Youth Republic is created and delivered by young people with artist Thomas Goddard, a collaborative project designed to support discussion, empathy and understanding between the people of Taunton through the history and current day realities of social justice and equity.

Taunton Youth Republic is commissioned and produced by Somerset Art Works, working in collaboration with Tyca Festival and partnership with South West Heritage Trust. Funded by Arts Council England and Arts Taunton.
