South West Artist Peer Forum is a group of contemporary artists based in the South West, meeting every few months to present and critique their recent works and ideas. The artists in the group assist each other to create new work and momentum for contemporary art in the Somerset and wider South West area. Participants benefit from support, advice, critique and feedback from their peers. A cohesive social network is created that could lead to projects in the future.
With the support from Somerset Art Works’ Artist Development Programme, the group have invited Somerset-born Wiltshire based artist Sam Bakewell (Winner of British Ceramics Biennial 2015 & selected for Jerwood Makers Open 2017) in the next meeting to give a presentation of his work and participate in a group crit.
Date: Thursday 23rd May
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: Sculpture studio in Corton Denham
(Exact location & direction will be sent to the participant after confirmation)
The group would like to invite TWO Somerset Art Works member artists to join their next meeting and to present a recent work (finished or a work in progress). Through this event a wider network and discussion is created, both within Somerset and outside the South West.
If you would like to attend the next meeting, please send the following ASAP by the 15 May to Hattie Moore [email protected]
1. Images of your work or links to your website
2. A CV
3. A short statement (about 50 – 100 words) about how the crit would benefit your art practice.
Supported by Somerset Art Works Artist Development Programme, funded by Arts Council England.
