TAUNTON TRANSFORMED: the role of the arts and culture
Bampfylde Hall, Hestercombe Gardens, Cheddon Fitzpaine, Taunton TA2 8LG
FREE Refreshments and lunch provided
Taunton is going to get bigger and better. As a Garden Town we have the opportunity to reveal Taunton’s rich heritage while injecting fresh energy into Somerset’s county town.
Taunton Deane Borough Council knows that art and culture are vital in creating a rich environment and the kind of place where people want to live, work, study and visit. We want your help in developing a cultural strategy that will see the arts and culture underpinning life in Taunton. We are starting this process with a conference that will not only inspire and excite us but make us think and act.
Knowledgeable and inspirational speakers will talk about the power of art and culture to enrich our lives. We will witness the brilliance of what Taunton already has through a specially-commissioned film and work in groups to decide the priorities and actions for Taunton Garden Town Cultural Strategy. Will you be part of this?
Our speakers are:
Jenny Waldman, Director 1418 NOW…
…the major cultural programme that has been taking place across the UK to mark the centenary of the First World War.
