Anne Boleyn will not be at the Feminist Fete!

Craft workshop at the Tower of London Cost: £10

Join artist Jessica Palmer for a drop-in craft workshop inspired by the women’s movement. Bring along a photo of your favourite feminist, or choose from our collection of images, and create either a paper rosette, a paper cut surround or a decorated framed portrait of your feminist. In the green, white and purple colours of the suffragettes, we will be using a combination of paper cutting, collaging and paper folding to make beautiful decorative homages to incredible people. You can either take your piece home, or add it to our Feminist Fete Timeline Montage. Timings: drop-in between 11.00-16.00

Jess is as comfortable drawing with a knife as with a pen. She also works with cut paper to create collage art. In all her images, she conjures story-telling images with strong figurative and character elements, humour and movement. Her artwork is enjoyed around the world, and her fifth book has just been published by New York publishers Rizzoli. Jessica is the in-house illustrator for English Heritage and a Visiting Artist at the V&A, National Portrait Gallery, the Holburne and many other national institutions.
