Alcantara- Beyond the Wells

Alcantara… beyond the Wells is a new project involving Somerset artist Peter Lawrence and Jordanian artist Zeina Barhoum.
Alcantara is an Arabic word meaning bridge and the exhibition will feature landscapes and impressions of Wells, Somerset, Europe and the Arab world.
The exhibition of art will incorporate the launch of a book containing the paintings complemented by prose and poetry from writers in Somerset and the Levant region.
There is also a concert at Wells Cathedral on 16 March with Arab and Western music featuring Jordanian Soprano Zeina Barhoum with massed choir, Wells Cathedral School Sinfonietta, Christopher Sheldrake and other soloists.
