Ferne Animal Sanctuary have a bright open exhibiting space with plenty of natural daylight. They are open to requests to use the indoor space for exhibiting works of art of all kinds. The only restriction is that the artwork cannot be made from items of animals origin e.g. fur.

Outside has plenty of grassy areas and even an island where larger works can be exhibited.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary are happy to loan the space free of charge, subject to availability. They would expect an artist to donate 10% of their profit to the sanctuary although are happy to consider a flat fee alternative. They would be willing to help with promotion (with 10,000+ followers on Facebook) and would expect exhibitors to pay for tea/coffee and biscuits at £3.95 per person.

Currently we are 2 artists working in acrylics and pastels and are looking for a third person working in 3D media.  We will set up our studios in the village hall and plan to be there every day painting and will also run pre-booked pastel workshops on selected days. We will be serving real coffee, homemade cakes, and savoury snacks. The Church Centre is a welcoming and practical venue in the heart of Bishops Lydeard. The main hall is on the ground floor. A versatile space of 8.7m x 9.3m plus an en-suite kitchen. The upstairs hall measures 8.7m x 6.3m and has facilities for making hot drinks. A stair lift is in place. These areas can be hired separately or together. Inspection welcomed. Black Swan Arts are offering the Round Tower, a grade II listed wool drying store to artists wanting to set up a temporary working space for Somerset Open Studios. The Tower has run a successful programme of exhibitions for the past four years, along with other exhibitions in the Long Gallery and artisan studios across the building. Rook Lane Chapel Attached can offer space for a group Open Studio. The main gallery is the Chapel, following on from is an extension comprising the link space and a Café area space. There is also a lovely landscaped garden if there are any sculptors etc. Viewings welcome.

There is a J-Rail hanging system, artists can view the hanging system before confirming.

Usually Rook Lane charge £400 per week to hire the space, but for Art Weeks they are happy to offer the space free of charge. They just need to cover costs so any weekend day that is open they will charge £25 to cover caretaking costs. Opening times / days can be flexible and discussed. Unable to open on the first weekend and any Sunday’s due to bookings already in the diary. During the week the latest closing time is 5.30 Mon – Thurs & 4.30 on Fridays. This can be extended as long as there are no evening events but need to charge £10 per hour over these times to cover caretaking costs.

Preview evenings are welcome but will be charged at £150 plus vat (to include bar and staff. ) If the artist would like to offer complimentary drinks for the guests there will be an extra charge.

Sales commission will be applicable at 25% plus vat.

Please note that Rook Lane hold a number of different evening events including concerts / lectures, so the work will remain hung during. This is great for extra exposure for the Artists however they must ensure they have their own Artists insurance. They must appoint a designated steward during all opening hours, or steward themselves.

Stable Arts at Nynehead Court are offering space for  pop up workshops and an exhibition.
The stables are on two levels, the ground floor has two original stalls, a small kitchen area. Toilet facilities and a workshop space.
The first floor is  approximately 36ft  x 12ft.
It may be that the first floor can be used as gallery 3D space for the participating artists running workshops on the ground floor. The Orangery would also be available for 2D on the walls.
The space could be used by 3-5 artists depending upon the discipline.
